Dearing- Mr. Buford Eddie McGahee Jr., age 68, beloved husband of Mrs. Dione McGahee, entered into rest Thursday, June 01, 2017 at his residence.

Memorial service will be 4 p.m., Saturday, June 10, 2017 in Mt. Tabor Baptist Church, Harlem with the Rev. Mike Sutphin officiating.

Mr. McGahee was a native of Wilkes, County, but had lived in Dearing for many years.  He was a truck driver for 17 years and a member of Iron Hill Advent Christian Church.  He was an Army veteran serving two tours in Vietnam and one tour in Korea.    

Mr. McGahee was preceded in death by his mother, Laverne (K.D.) Guy, his father, Buford Eddie (Hazel) McGahee, Sr.; two brothers David Guy Jr. and Mark McGahee; a niece, Michelle Workman.  He is survived by his wife, Dione McGahee, Dearing; five daughters, Martie (Jimmy) Ewest, Dearing, Lisa (Pokey) Peebles, Thomson, Melissa (Edward Sr.) Graham, Thomson, Sharron Watts (Chadrick Drayton), Rabun Co., and Kendall Dailey (Thomas Owens), Dearing; three sons, Buford Twillger, Washington St., Stephen Keener, Dearing, and Daniel Dailey, Rabun Co.; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; three sisters, Linda (Don) Price, Harlem, Dianne (Lee Roy) Taylor, Grovetown, and Judy (Russell) Minor, Dearing; a special nephew, Gyle (Ashley) Workman, Dearing, and numerous other nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the funeral home. There will be no visitation at the funeral home

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to help cover funeral expenses.

Curtis Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
