Mrs. Doris Whitener Couch Burkhart

Thomson- Mrs. Doris Whitener Couch Burkhart, 94, entered into rest Friday, May 19, 2017 in Thomson Health and Rehabilitation.

Funeral Services will be at 2 p.m., Sunday, May 21, 2017 in Curtis Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mike Sutphin officiating.  Burial will follow in New Providence Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Burkhart was a native of Wilkes County, Georgia, but lived in Thomson for several years.  She was retired as an inspector for Camak Manufacturing, and a member of Mt. Tabor Baptist Church, Harlem, Georgia.

Mrs. Burkhart is survived two daughters, Ann (Roger) Nicholson, West Virginia, and Jean Williams, Dearing; two sons, Jack (Patricia) Moody, Colville, Washington State and Retired Sheriff Dean (Gwyn) Couch, Gibson; sister, Reba Edmonds, Thomson; nine grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Pallbearers will be grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to New Providence Baptist Church Cemetery Fund 5853 E. Cadley Road Norwood, Georgia 30821

Friends may call at the residence of Jean Williams 3372 Mitchner Road Dearing, Georgia 30808, phone 706-595-7589 or at the funeral home.  The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday night the funeral home.

Curtis Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
