Gilbert Engel

Thomson- Mr. Gilbert Engel, 84, Beloved husband of Mrs. Sara W. Engel, died Wednesday, July 12, 2017.

Mr. Engel was a native of Williamsport Pa., but had lived in Thomson for several years. He was retired from Civil Service at Fort Gordon. He was an Army Veteran. He was a member of Thomson First Baptist Church, where he was a member of the Men’s Outreach Class.

A Memorial service will be held 11 A.M. Friday July 28, 2017 in Thomson First Baptist Church with the Rev. David Lambert and Dr. Lee Almy officiating. 

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Sara W. Engel, his two daughters, Renee (Lee) Almy, Cumming and Shelley (John) Colberg, Buford; his son, Kamm A. (Caroline) Engel, Pipersville, Pa.; his brother, LeRoy (Mary) Engel, Sherwood, Ark.; 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren: several nephews and one niece.

Honorary Pallbearers will be the Men’s Outreach Class at Thomson First Baptist Church.

Friends may call at the residence or at the Curtis Funeral Home.  The family will receive friends prior to service at the church.
