 June Hardin Norris Spaulding

Appling, GA- June Hardin Norris Spaulding, 86, made her entry into heaven on December 1st, 2017, after a brave battle with colon, lung and bone cancers and Alzheimer’s disease.  Born in Columbia County, GA to Eugenia Callaway Lindsey Hardin and Tom Robert Hardin, Sr., she lived in Thomson for many years where she was very active in the First Baptist Church.  She returned to Appling to care for her aging mother and special sister.  She then was deeply involved in Damascus Baptist Church, the church of her childhood.

Survivors include a sister, Rose Marie McNeill, Thomson and a brother, Carlton Timothy Hardin, Appling, a granddaughter, Melissa Nichole Norris and a grandson, Charles Clifton Norris (Brooke), a great-grandson, Calvin Barry Norris, Thomson, and a number of beloved nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by husbands, Winton Mell “Cup” Norris and Layton Eugene “Les” Spaulding; sons, Winton Nell Norris, Jr. and Charles Barry Norris; brother, Tom Robert Hardin, Jr., Ramsey Gerald Hardin and Aristides “Aris” Lindsey Hardin and a sister, Mary Hardin.

A graveside service will be held at Westview Cemetery, Thomson, GA. at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 2, 2017 with the Rev. David Stockton officiating.  Family will receive friends at the cemetery after the service.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Damascus Baptist Church, 6375 Ridge Road, Appling GA. 30802.
