Mr. Vernon Gene Thornton, Jr.

Warrenton- Mr. Vernon G. Thornton, Jr., 56, entered into rest Friday, July 21, 2017 in University Hospital.  He was the son of Mrs. Daleena Jo Boutwell and the late Mr. Vernon Gene Thornton, Sr.

Mr. Thornton was a native of Jacksonville, FL, but has lived in Warrenton for several years.  He was a member of First Baptist Church of Thomson, and the Men’s outreach Sunday School Class.

Mr. Thornton is survived by his son, Vernon Gene Thornton, III of Florida; a daughter, Amber Susan Thornton, of Florida; his mother, Mrs. Daleena Jo Boutwell, of Warrenton; three grandchildren, Eli Thornton, Logan Thornton, and Laila Thornton, of Florida; five sisters, Rachel Joann Maddox, of Warrenton, Elizabeth Lewis (Jerry), of Warrenton, Karen DuBose (Tony), of Florida, Lisa Watkins (Tim), of Florida, and Leticia Patterson, of Warrenton; two brothers, Terry Boutwell (Debbie) of Dearing, and Dwayne Boutwell (Paige) of Thomson; and a host of extended family.
