Mrs. Patricia Rae Thorne Brunner, 70
Boneville
Trish passed away peacefully in the comfort of her own home on March 8 from dementia. She was the second daughter born to Virgle Ray and Betty Jean Wilson Thorne from whom she inherited her sweet, unassuming, caring, and pleasant personality. Trish found happiness in the simple pleasures of life. She lived her life well, filled with love, laughter, and lasting memories of family and good times
Trish graduated from Briarwood Academy in 1972. In high school she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at Urbana Student Mission Conference, which she attended with her sister Jeanne. As a young adult she was an avid horsewoman and competed in Western Riding Competitions. Trish enjoyed the company of her three cats, Bella, Boots, and Tom. Trish worked in civil service at Fort Gordon for 31 years. She grew up in Boneville and came back to retire in Boneville. Trish loved to walk three miles everyday at Sweetwater Park in Thomson. Between the age of of 54 to 60, Trish completed many day hikes in North Georgia, North Carolina, and climbed most of the highest peaks within the Great Smoky Mountains National Park which were 10 to 15 miles round trips.
Trish was a member of Sweetwater Baptist Church. Every Thursday she loved to join the ladies in the kitchen to prepare and deliver “Meals on Wheels”. Trish had a heart of gold and occasionally would say “I love everybody”. She had beautiful blue eyes and would give you a lovely smile always. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Survivors include her companion of sixteen and a half years, Brian Gibson; her daughter, Shelly Fulbright; her son, Lawson Fulbright, granddaughter, Amelia Fulbright; sister, Jeanne (Mike) Brissett; and feline babies, Bella, Boots, and Tom. Trish was preceded in death by her parents, Virgle and Betty Thorne, and husband Robert “Bob” Brunner.
A special Thank you to Trish’s guardian angels, Anita Dunson, Dede Riley, Belinda Patterson, and Elaine Sims for their loving care.
