Obituary
Thomson - Mr. David Lucas, 76, widower of Mrs. Lynda Guy Lucas, died Wednesday, January 11, 2023, in the Select Specialty Hospital In Augusta.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, January 15, 2023, in the Little Brier Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, with Military Honors.
Mr. Lucas was born in Kentucky, but had lived in Thomson for many years. He was an Army Veteran having served in Vietnam. He was a retired supervisor with several wood processing plants in the Thomson area and was a Diesel Mechanic.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lynda Gayle Lucas; his mother, Irene Lucas; his father, Charles Lucas; and several brothers and sisters.
Survivors include his two daughters, Lori Lucas Moneypenny, Az., and Devin Lucas, Thomson; his son, Chris Lucas, N. Augusta S.C.; his four grandchildren, Timothy Moneypenny, Jessica Moneypenny, Maegan Morris and Wyatt Lucas; his three great-grandchildren, Jase Morris, Nova Gayle Navarro, and Aurora Sky Moneypenny; his three sisters, Janice Crabtree, Mary Smith, and Marguerite Wilhoit; and his two brothers, Bobby Joe Lucas and Ricky Lucas.
Friends may call at the Curtis Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday night at the funeral home.
