Dearing - Mr. Melvin H. Reese, Jr., 64, died Monday, August 9, 2021, at his residence.

There are no services planned at this time.

Mr. Reese was born in Wilkes County, but had lived in McDuffie County for many years. He was a retired mechanic and a member of the Long Creek Baptist Church.

Survivors include his daughter, Christy (Rick) Whitaker, Appling; his mother, Elsie Downs, Harlem; his two sisters, Peggy Murray and Darlene Burke; and his brother, Lynwood Burke, Jr.
