Helen H. (Humphrey) Johnson

Thomson-Mrs. Helen H. Johnson, 96, Salem Road, entered into rest Saturday, January 6, 2018, at her residence.

Funeral Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, January 8, in the Curtis Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Butch Baston officiating. Burial will be in Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Johnson was born in Glascock County to Hugh A. and Martha N. Newsome. She was a member of Thomson First United Methodist Church. She graduated from Glascock County Schools, graduated from Augusta University with a BS degree in Business Administration. She also earned a Certified Professional Secretary Certificate from the National Secretaries Association. She was a licensed insurance agent. She retired from Georgia Farm Bureau as Agency Manager for Glascock, Hancock, and Warren Counties. After retirement, she owned and operated Tri County Insurance Agency, in Warrenton until her retirement in February 2017.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, Everette Humphrey and Hugh D. Humphrey; nephew, Allen Humphrey and niece, Stephanie H. McCord.

Survivors include her son, Daniel Clark Johnson, Jr., Thomson; her granddaughter, Danielle Johnson, Augusta; 4 sisters, Hildred H. Newsome, Thomson, Dahlia H. Calton, Pine Mountain, Ga., Joanne H. Harris, Thomson, and Faye H. Montgomery Wood, Thomson; Nephews, Duanne Humphrey, Dearing, Rodney Calton, Pine Mountain; Nieces, Kathy Humphrey, Augusta, Debra Harris, Thomson, Donna Quick, Waynesboro; and a number of great nieces and nephews; Special caregivers, Beverly Dunn, Cheryl Hill, Venitta Hill, and Denise Norman

Pallbearers will be  Art Harris, Bobby Harris, Chris Humphrey, Jeff Quick, Sidney Smith, and Kenneth Norris.

Friends may call at the Curtis Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Monday at the Funeral Home
