Thomson – Mr. Hubert D. Haire, Jr. (Junior), 83, entered into rest Tuesday, December 11, 2018 in Georgia War Veterans Nursing Home. 

A funeral service will be held in Curtis Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, December 13, 2018 at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Joe Walden officiating.  Interment will follow in Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Haire was born in Greenville, Tennessee and moved to Georgia in 1949.  He was a retired construction worker and a member of Dearing Full Gospel Church.  He served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War.  He was welcomed home by his wife Priscilla Haire, his granddaughter, Crystal Jones, his parents, Rev. & Mrs. Hubert Haire, Sr., his brothers, Rev. Larry Haire, Sr. and Rev. William Joe Haire, his sisters, Barbara Chandler, Geraldine Montgomery, Ina Urian and Linda Kaye Haire.

He is survived by his four children, Julie Chance (Tommy), Thomson, Linda Griswell (Bobby), Kathy Sapp (David), both of Evans, and Dee Haire (Rhonda), Appling; ten grandchildren, Chris Jones, Kiley Chance, Brandon Chance, Jason Sapp, Chase Sapp, JDee Haire, Layne Haire, River Haire, Jonathan Adams and Lauren Adams; seven great-grandchildren, Haley Jones, Chase Chance, Bailey Chance, Layla Johnson, Brantlee Jones, Gage Jones, and Paisley Palomar; five sisters, Joyce Newsome, Brenda Thomas, both of Thomson, Karen Walden and Vickie Arrington, both of Mathews and Reba Baggett, Greenville, Tenn.; and many nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Chase Sapp, Jason Sapp, Layne Haire, River Haire, Chris Jones and Brandon Chance. 

The family will receive friends Thursday one hour prior to the service.

Curtis Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
