Julianne (Shields) Dixon

Mrs. Julianne Shields Dixon, 83, widow of the late Mr. Robert Dixon, entered into rest Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at her residence. She was the daughter of the late Mr. Julian Shields and Mrs. Lucile Wade Shields. Graveside Services will be at 11 A.M., Thursday, June 22, 2017 in Westview Cemetery with the Rev. David Lambert officiating. Mrs. Dixon was a lifelong resident of McDuffie County. She was a retired bank teller with the Bank of Thomson. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Thomson, where she was a member of the Agape Sunday School Class and past Church pianist. She was a member of Kiwanis Club of Thomson, where she was club pianist and a Hixon Fellow. She played for many funerals, weddings, church and social gatherings her entire life. Mrs. Dixon was preceded in death by her husband, a daughter, Robin Thigpen and an infant sister, Nancy Jane Shields. She is survived by three daughters, Lucie Wills (Joe), Mimi Dent (Doug), and Jane Fredericks (Clark), all of Thomson: 6 grandchildren, Bob (Robin Anne) Wills, Anne (Dillon) Bowers, Andrew (Christine) Coxwell, Rachel Coxwell, Wade Thigpen, and Sara (Luke) Leviner; and 3 great-grandchildren, Riley Kate Wills, Ellis Wills, and Hampton Wills. The members of Thomson Kiwanis Club will be honorary pallbearers. In lieu of flowers memorial may be made to the Go and Tell Mission Fund at First Baptist Church of Thomson.  Friends may call at the home of Lucie and Joe Wills or at the funeral home.
