Thomson- Mr. Owen Williams, 82,  widower of Mrs. Ruth Dunaway Williams, entered into rest Monday, October 02, 2017 in Thomson Health and Rehabilitation. 

Funeral Services will be 2 p.m. Friday, October 6, 2017 in Sweetwater Baptist Church with the Rev. Ken Garvin and Rev. J.B. Redd officiating.  Burial will follow in Westview Cemetery.

Mr. Williams was a native of Jefferson County, but has lived in Thomson for many years.  He was retired as a Textile Machine Repairman, and a member of Sweetwater Baptist Church of Thomson.

Mr. Williams is survived by a daughter, Robin Johnson (Paul), Thomson; a son, Brian Williams (Jana), Roswell; three sisters, Frances Hillman, Wrens, Willeana McCoy, Augusta, and Marie McGahee, Stapleton; brother, Murray Williams, N. Augusta;  seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Matthew Johnson, Andrew Johnson, Rodney Dunaway, Joshua Johnson, Jeremy Williams and Levi Johnson.  Honorary Pallbearers will be Deacons of Sweetwater Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Sweetwater Baptist Church Building Fund,  First Baptist Church Capital Improvement Fund P.O. Box 1205 Thomson, Georgia 30824, and St. Catherine’s Episcopal Church Choir Fund 571 Holt Road Marietta, Georgia 30068.   

Friends may call at the home of Robin & Paul Johnson or the funeral home.  The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday night at the funeral home.

Curtis Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
