Mrs. Shirley S. Johnson
Appling- Mrs. Shirley S. Johnson, 85, widow of Mr. Forest L. Johnson, entered into rest on Wednesday, January 30, 2019, at her residence.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2 pm Saturday, February 2nd, 2019 in Shiloh United Methodist Church with the Rev. Shirley Suàrez officiating.
Mrs. Johnson was a native of Columbia County, and lived in Appling for many years. She was a retired School Principal with the Columbia County Board of Education. She was a lifelong member of Shiloh United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Forest L. Johnson and her parents, Mr. Lloyd and Cloe Smith. Survived by two girls, Cheryl Cook (John) and Mary Edith Kirkland (James), both of Appling; three sisters, Edith Collins (Gene), Appling, Camille Boyd, Ashville N.C., and Mary Lynn Hopper (Herbert), Pitts, Georgia; five grandchildren, Ashley Garner (Andy), Carrie Serigney (Shanon), Eric Cook (Grace), Forest Kirkland, and Hannah Kirkland; and six great-grandchildren, Garrett Serigney, Koby Serigney, Jonathan Garner, Emily Nangoo, Hope Cook, and Lilly Anne Cook.
Please no flowers. Memorials may be made to Shiloh United Methodist Church or Whiteoak Campground.
Friends may call at the residence or the Curtis Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 pm Friday at the funeral home.
