Barbara C. (Conway) O'Kane

Thomson- Barbara Conway O’Kane, 80, of Thomson Ga., passed away on August 30, 2024, at Piedmont / Augusta Hospital.

Barbara was born in Frankfort, Ky. on September 26, 1943 to Dallas Conway and Grace Singleton Conway.

Barbara moved to Lakeland, Fl in 1955, where she graduated from Lakeland Senior High in 1961. She married John E. O’Kane in 1965. They moved to Thomson, Ga in 1982. She retired from McDuffie County Hospital as Human Resources and Administrative Assistant. After retirement she enjoyed working in her yard, visiting friends, and relatives, and cooking for her family.

Survivors include her husband, John E. O’Kane, son, Jason (Melissa) O’Kane, of Savannah Ga.; sister, Betty Whitehead, of Cookeville, TN.; nieces, Sabrina (Raul) Gumero, of Inverness, Fl and Odessa (Jim) Nelson, of Cookeville, Tn.; Special recognition goes to Drake and Lea Gumero.
