Augusta – Mrs. Betty Duffie-Lunsford, 75, widow of Mr. Dennis L. Lunsford Sr., entered into rest Sunday, November 29, 2020, at her residence.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, December 2, 2020, at 3 p.m., in the Little Brier Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, with Dr. Randy Dunaway and Rev. John Jenkins officiating.
Mrs. Duffie-Lunsford was a native of Wilkes County, grew up in McDuffie County, but had been living in Augusta for several years. She was a graduate of Augusta Tech. She was retired from a clerical position with the Civil Service at Fort Gordon after forty years of service. She was a member of the Little Brier Creek Baptist Church. She loved to travel and loved supporting her son and grandson in their racing.
Mrs. Duffie-Lunsford was predeceased by three siblings; Georgia Lee Tharpe, S. L. Duffie and Billy Duffie. Survivors include her son, Chris (Leigh Anne) Usry; a grandson, C. J. (Molly) Usry; and a sister, Lynda (Carl) Bowen, all of Thomson.
Pallbearers will be Chris Usry, C.J. Usry, Wayne Duffie, Carl C. Bowen, Theresa Parsons, and Marshall Bray. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Naomi Group.
In Lieu of Flowers, Donations may be made to the Little Brier Creek Baptist Church or the American Cancer Society.
Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, there will be no visitation. However friends may call at the residence or at the Curtis Funeral Home. The family will greet people at the cemetery, following the service. A guest book may be signed at the funeral home or online at www.curtisfuneralhome.com
