Betty (Spires) McDonald

Augusta- Mrs. Betty McDonald, widow of Mr. Richard McDonald, passed away on Saturday, October 11, 2025, in the Rhea Medical Center in Dayton, Tn.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m., Thursday, October 16, 2025, in the Westview Cemetery, Thomson, with Rev. Mike Sutphin officiating.

Mrs. McDonald was born in Aiken, S.C. to the late Eugene and Annie Lee Hydrick Spires. She made her home in Augusta for many years. She was a retired School Bus Driver for the Richmond County Board of Education. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Warren Baptist Church.

Survivors include her three sons, Alan LaGrone, Lincolnton, Larry LaGrone, Augusta, and Mike LaGrone, Fl.; her 7 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the graveside after services on Thursday.
