Thomson- Mr. Bobby Gene Hampton Sr., 90, beloved husband of Mrs. Louise Cato Hampton, died Saturday, January 20, 2024, in the Agape House of Lexington, in Lexington, S.C.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, January 25, 2024, in the Westview Cemetery, with Rev. Mike Sutphin officiating.
Mr. Hampton was born in Kingdom Come, Ky., but had lived in Thomson for many years. He was a master mechanic having worked at Uniroyal and later at the Fort Gordon Hospital, where he retired. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a Baptist.
Survivors include his wife, Louise Cato Hampton, Thomson; his daughter, Martha Jean Schnitzer, Brandon, Fl.; his two sons, Clifford Eugene Hampton, Lincolnton and Bobby Gene Hampton Jr., Warner Robins; His sister, Susan Perry, Whitesburg, Ky.; his two brothers, Carmel Hampton, Whitesburg, Ky. and Orville Hampton, Harlem; his seven grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 am on Thursday at the funeral home.
