Thomson - Mrs. Carolyn Hood Kitchens, 85, widow of Mr. Roy Kitchens, died Wednesday, December 9, 2020, in the Harrington Park Health and Rehab.
A graveside service will be at 3 p.m., Saturday, December 12, 2020, in the Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens, with Rev. Faye Burgamy officiating. The family will receive friends after the services Saturday. Due to the covid-19 pandemic, face masks and social distancing are recommended.
Mrs. Kitchens was a native of Wrens, Ga., but had lived in Thomson for many years. She was a graduate of Wrens High School. She was retired from the Thomson Company and was a member of Young Memorial United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lee and Ada Holley Hood, and her husband, Roy Kitchens. Survivors include her two daughters, Teresa Otwell, Fayetteville, and Terri Hicks, Thomson; her son, Todd Kitchens, Thomson; her sister, Elizabeth Chalker, Thomson; and 9 grandchildren.
The family request that Donations be made to the Zoar United Methodist Church or the Charity of One's Choice. The family would like to Thank the Staff at Harrington Park for their love and care.
