Thomson - Ms. Cynthia Jean Hunt, 74, passed away, Monday, February 10, 2025, at her residence
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, March 1, 2025, in the Curtis Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Dr. Sargent Nelson officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 am prior to services.
Ms. Hunt was born in Camden, N.J, to the late Whitelaw Hummer and Ruth Hunt. She had lived in Thomson for many years. She was a retired Educator, having attained her Doctorate Degree with over 35 years of service to several schools. She retired from teaching at Harlem High School. She was described as a person with a world of knowledge and even though she never married, she helped raise hundreds of students. She was a charter member of the New Thomson United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Belle Meade Hunt, where she was the first lady to attain the Redcoat. She loved her dogs and horses.
Survivors include her three brothers, Whitelaw H. Hunt (Barbara), Wyman (JoAnne) Hunt, and Winston Hunt; several nieces, great and great-great nieces and nephews; and her caregivers, Leann Neal Robinson, Derrick Lee, and the folks at Southeast Hospice.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the New Thomson United Methodist Church or to the charity of one’s choice.
