Evans- Mr. Jessie Donald Smith, 79, widower of Mrs. Paulette Marshall Smith, died Saturday, January 2, 2021, in the Georgia War Veterans Facility in Augusta.
A private graveside service will be held in Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens, with Dr. Steve Dodson officiating. Due to the covid-19 pandemic, no visitation will be held.
Mr. Smith was a native of Washington, Georgia, but had lived in Thomson for many years, before moving to Evans. He was a retired Chemist with Columbia Nitrogen. He was an Air Force Veteran. He was a member of Warren Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Paulette Smith and his parents, Edward and Doris Smith. Survivors include his three Daughters, Dawn Smith Swan (W. Bryant “Bubba” ), Thomson, Brooke Smith Hagler (Ben), Martinez, and Page Smith Mims (Darrell), Daphne, Alabama; his brother, Carroll Smith, Colorado Springs, Co.; his seven grandchildren, Will Swan (Charissa), Sara James (Blake), Benjamin Hagler (Eva), Callie Cosper (Mike), Ruthie Hagler, Madeline Paul, and Gavin Mims; and his six great-grandchildren, Ellie Swan, Stella Swan, Cora Swan, Marshall James, Caroline Cosper, and Henry Cosper.
