Thomson - Mr. Donnie Gunby, 78, passed away Wednesday, April 9, 2025 at his residence.
A gravesides service will be at 12 noon, Friday, April 11, 2025, in Westview Cemetery, with Rev. Mike Sutphin officiating. Military Honors will be observed.
Mr. Gunby was a native and lifelong resident of McDuffie County. He was an Army Veteran, having served in the Vietnam War. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Aubrey and Mary Gunby; his brothers, Freddy Gunby and Craig Gunby; his sister, Vicky Gunby; and his grandson, Cameron O’Neal. Survivors include his two daughters, Sherry (Bris) O’Neal and Lisa (Jim) Hill; his two sons, Don (Donna) Gunby and Steve (April) Gunby; his grandchildren, Chrissy (Dustin) Davis, Brian Dozier, Clayton O'Neal, Dustin Gunby, Christopher Anderson, Kayla Gunby, Corey (Taylor) Wizemann, Bradley Hill, Logan Hill, Byron Hill, Haley Gunby, Baylea (Makay) Hoover, Brycen Gunby; his 20 great-grandchildren; and his four brothers, James (Gayle) Gunby, Clay (Brenda) Gunby, Bob Gunby, and Joe (Kelly) Gunby.
The family would like to thank Joshua Griffin,R.N., with Trinity Hospice, for his kindness and care.
Pallbearers will be Brycen Gunby, Dustin Davis, Dustin Gunby, Joseph Gunby, Brian Dozier and Logan Hill.
Friends may call at the Curtis Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the Curtis Funeral Home this Friday morning from 11 to 11:45, prior to services.
