Thomson - Mrs. Doris Hollingsworth Smith passed away on January 10, 2021 at the University / Augusta Hospital. Born in Gastonia, N.C., she moved to Greenville, S.C. at the age of 5, living there until she moved with her husband and children to Thomson, GA. in 1951.
She was a member of the Young Memorial Methodist Church and the Walter Candler Sunday School Class.
She was a loving, caring and generous mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Surviving are her daughters, Vicki Berry (Bob) and Becky Lokey (Billy); grandchildren: Robert Berry, Jr., Valarie Alexander (Mark), Rebecca Sanders (Shane), Curtis Lokey (Jodi), and Bill Lokey (Meredith); great-grandmother to: Emma and Ben Lokey, Will Lokey, Berry Claire, Lilly and Sibley Alexander, and Caroline, Will and Jake Sanders.
Along with her parents, Mr. & Mrs. Bill Hollingsworth, she was predeceased by her husband, Curtis Smith; infant son, W.D. Smith; brothers, J.W. Hollingsworth, Charles Hollingsworth and Jack Hollingsworth. Also, a sister, Wilma Hawkins.
Special thanks to her caregivers of several years;Patricia Lloyd, Joy Crawford and Ellen Herndon. They will be remembered for their love and care.
Due to the Covid outbreak, a closed family only graveside service will be held on Saturday, January 23, 2021, in Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens. There will be no visitation.
