Elizabeth Diane Hatcher Edwards

Augusta – Mrs. Elizabeth Diane Hatcher Edwards, 74, widow of the late, George “Jimmy” Edwards, died Sunday, January 24, 2021, in University Hospital/Augusta.

A memorial service is scheduled for this Friday, January 29, 2021 at 2pm in the Curtis Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 6 to 8 pm on Thursday, January 28, 2021. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, face masks and social distancing will be practiced.

Mrs. Edwards was a native of Gibson, Glascock County, before moving to Thomson.  She was a caregiver.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George Burke and Eloise Chalker Hatcher.  Survivors include two sons, Keith Jowers (Tina) and Christopher Matthew Jowers; two grandchildren, Logan Matthew Jowers and Haley Case; stepchildren, Lynn Evans and Rhonda Langham; and her lifelong friend, who was like a sister, Betty Jacobs.
