Gibson, Georgia - Mrs. Florence Shavers, 83, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 3, 2025, in the Gibson Health & Rehab Facility.
Mrs. Shavers was born in McDuffie County, Georgia and raised in Avera. She was the first born of Katherine and Walter Radford and grew up alongside her siblings, Chester, Vesta, Jack, Alvin and Terry.
Florence was a devoted mother to ten children – Carolyn, Beverly, Lonnie (Jr.), Wayne, Sandra, Kathy, Steven, Aaron, Christopher and Jessica – and grandmother to all of her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She loved watching her family grow with each generation, treasured hearing their stories and delighted in seeing photos of them as often as possible.
She was always there for her family in times of need, whether offering help or simply her support. A talented seamstress, Florence loved making homemade clothes and blankets for her grandchildren, pouring her love into every stitch.
Florence experienced the loss of many loved ones during her lifetime, but she is now reunited with her beloved husband, Aaron Shavers. She will be remembered for her unwavering love and the warmth she brought to everyone around her.
A memorial will be held at a later date, to be determined by her family.
