Stapleton - Mr. James Elton Hillman, 90, beloved husband of Mrs. Shirley Hillman, died Saturday, May 6, 2023, in the Gibson Health and Rehab facility.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 10, 2023, in the Curtis Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Stacy Phillips officiating. Burial will be in the Reedy Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Hillman was a native of Warren County and had lived in the Stapleton area all his life. He was retired from Kingsley Mills and was a Baptist by faith.
He was preceded in death by his children, Cheryl Hillman and Danny Hillman, his parents, James Calvin and Ada Hillman; his brothers, Eldridge and Irwin Hillman, and his granddaughter, Melissa Williams. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Hillman, Stapleton; his two daughters, Teresa (James) Wilburn, Norwood, and Gail (Charles) Holbrook, Thomson; his son, Jerry Hillman, Swainsboro; his grandchildren, Allen (Crystal) Hillman, Jennifer (Alvey) Lamb, Angie (Lynn) Phillips, Gene (Tabitha) Holbrook, Jeffrey (Jennifer) Holbrook, James Cameron Wilburn and Krystle Ciarra (David) Holland; his great-grandchildren, Kimberly Phillips, Sloan (Daniel) Rawlins, Hunter (Breanna) Phillips, Hannah Mae Holbrook, Evan Holbrook, Bryar Holbrook, Jessica (Jason) Simpson, Joshua (Kayla) Hillman, Taylor (Dale) Bowles, Jonathon (Samantha) Fanning, Christina Gantt, Brittany Brazell, Travis Brazell, Christian Williams, James Dante Wilburn and Nolan Isaiah Holland: and his great-great-grandchildren, Paisley Holbrook, Cole Phillips, Carmen Phillips, Peyton, Nathaniel, Samuel, Levi, Lydia Bowles, Sophilia Bowles, Addison Fanning and Elijah Maddox Wren.
Pallbearers will be Allen Hillman, Gene Holbrook, Jeffrey Holbrook, Hunter Phillips, Lynn Phillips, and Cameron Wilburn.
Friends may call at the residence of Gail and Charles Holbrook or at the Curtis Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday prior to services
