Thomson - Mr. James A. Talkington, 94, beloved husband of Mary Dean Clarke Talkington, passed away Monday, July 7, 2025 at his home.
He was born in Syracuse, NY, on September 15, 1930, to the late Paul and Sibyl Talkington. He was employed in Special Services with Bellsouth for 43 years. He was of the Methodist faith and was a member of the Thomson First Methodist Church. He was also a well respected member of the LeRoy Class at the Thomson First Baptist Church.
James is predeceased by his first wife, Evelyn Hammett Talkington, his parents, Paul and Sibyl Talkington, and his brother, Paul A. Talkington, Jr. He is survived by his present wife, Mary Dean Clarke Talkington; son, Jimmy ( Judy) Talkington; daughter, Penny (Doug) Whitaker; step-son, Robert (Leslie) May; grandchildren, Wes (Chelsea) Whitaker, Ashton (Tom) Knuth, Michael (Emily) Talkington, Harris (Crystal) Richards, Jonathan (Dawn) Talkington, Will (Jeri Lyn) Richards, Danielle May, and Zane May; twelve great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 9, 2025, in Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens, with Rev. Dr. Steve Dodson officiating. Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the LeRoy Class at the Thomson First Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends following the service.
