Thomson - Mr. James Ernest “Jay” Yarbrough Jr., 81, widower of Mrs. Linda Yarbrough, (who passed away last week), passed away Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at his residence.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m., Saturday, April 25, 2026, in the Curtis Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Steve Painter officiating.
Mr. Yarbrough was a native of Jesup, Ga., but had lived in Thomson for many years. He was retired security guard for the University Hospital in Augusta. He was an Army Veteran.
Survivors include his two sons, Wade (Tina) Yarbrough, Thomson and Don (Kathi) Mullins, Woodstock; his three grandchildren, Dakota (Sara) Yarbrough, Shelby (Noah) Mandarini, Chris (Amber) Burch; 5 great-grandchildren, Hayden Burch, Rylan Burch, Mackenzie Yarbrough, Brooklyn Mandarini, and Dawsyn Mandarini.
