Thomson - Mrs. Jane Appling, 81, widow of Mr. W.R. “Bill” Appling, died Thursday, October 31, 2024, in the Thomson Health and Rehab facility.
Gravesides services will be Saturday, November 2, 2024, at 2:30 p.m., in the Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens, with Dr. David Lambert officiating.
Mrs. Appling was a native and lifelong resident of McDuffie County. She was a 1961 graduate of Thomson High School. She was a member of Thomson First Baptist Church, where she attended Sunday School and volunteered for many different positions within the church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, W.R. “Bill” Appling; her grandson, Jason Appling; and her parents, Osborne & Ferdie Reese. Survivors include her grandson, Eric (April) Appling, Brookhaven, GA; and her two great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Curtis Funeral Home on Saturday, prior to the graveside services.
The family request that donations be made to Briarwood Academy or the Bereavement Meal Program at Thomson First Baptist Church.
