Obituary

Thomson - Mrs. Janelle N. Dent, 81, widow of Mr. Norman Dent, died Saturday, March 12, 2022, at her residence.

Graveside services will be at 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, March 15, 2022, in the Mesena United Methodist Church Cemetery, with Rev. Melissa Reynolds officiating.

Mrs. Dent was a native of Warren County, but had lived in Thomson for many years. She was a retired secretary with the McDuffie County Board of Education in the Food Services Department. She was a member of the Mesena United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Sterling and Louise Norris, and her husband, Norman Dent. Survivors include her three sons, Tommy (Debbie) Dent, Scottie (Gwyn) Dent, and Doug (Mimi) Dent; her two sisters, Martha Jackson and Mary Sanders; her two stepbrothers, Bubba Norris and Don Norris; her stepsister, Kathy Whitfield; her 5 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 10:30 am to funeral time on Tuesday in the fellowship hall of the Mesena United Methodist Church.
