Jerry L. Simpkins

Thomson - Mr. Jerry L. Simpkins, 75, Beloved husband of Mrs. Barbara J. Simpkins, died Friday, September 30, 2022, at his residence. 

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, October 3, 2022, in the Thomson First Baptist Church, with Dr. David Lambert officiating. Burial will be in the Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Simpkins was a native of Pell City, Alabama, but had lived in Thomson for many years. He was the owner / operator of Classic Homes Center in Augusta. He was a member of the Thomson First Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Barbara J. Simpkins, Thomson; his daughter, Mrs. Jayla (Cliff) Hill, Appling; his son, Jeremy (Shelley) Simpkins, Crawford, Fl.; 4 sisters, Carol Dean (Frank) Walker, Janice Marie Simpkins, Holly Denise (Lynn) Taylor, and Melissa Renee (Randy) Kohser, all of Alabama; 6 grandchildren,  Jeremy Price (Ashley) Simpkins, Parker Tad Simpkins, Dakota Ray (Ashley) Clark, Kevin Weslie Clark, Clifford Lawton Hill, and Colclough Elizabeth Hill; and 3 great-grandchildren, Brooklyn Kelley Simpkins, Charley Rae Clark, and Bowman Price Simpkins. 

Pallbearers will be Price Simpkins, Tad Simpkins, Lawton Hill, Cliff Hill, Lynn Taylor, and Frank Walker. Honorary Pallbearers will be Weslie Clark and Cody Clark.

The family request that donations be made to the Go and Tell Fund at Thomson First Baptist Church.
