Joyce (Cartledge) Young

Thomson- Mrs. Joyce C. Young, 95, widow of Mr. Roy G. Young, Sr., passed away at her residence on Friday, January 30, 2026.

Per Mrs. Young request, there will be no services.

Mrs. Young was born in Leah Ga., and had lived in Thomson for many years. She was a retired Seamstress.  She attended Thomson First Baptist Church for many years.

Survivors include her two sons, Roy Gibson ‘Gip” Young (Lindy), Augusta, and Jackie Young (Tonia), Thomson; her daughter, Lisa Matherson (Butch), N. Augusta, S.C.; her 5 grandchildren, Karla Waters (Jeff), Jay Young, Misty Hudson (Brandon), Shane Matherson, and Amanda Reed ( Justin); her 5 great- grandchildren, Pryce Waters, Paige Waters, Blake Turner, Maya Hudson, and Forrest Matherson; her one great-great-grandchild, Layla Moon Turner; and her brother, Lyndale Cartledge.

There will be no visitation.
