Hephzibah - Mr. Kenneth E. McGowan, 80, of Hephzibah, GA, died Thursday, October 28, 2021, in Augusta University Medical Center.
A memorial service will be held for Mr. McGowan, a devout Christian, this Friday, November 5, 2021 at 1 PM at the South Augusta Church of Christ, in Augusta, with Rev. Tom Boston officiating.
Mr. McGowan was a native of Bellevue, PA, but had made Hephzibah his most recent home. He was a retired veteran of the United States Army.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lina Exner McGowan; brother, David McGowan; and grandson, Blaine McGowan.
He is survived by his sisters, Janet Peterson of GA and Peggy Smith of Utah, as well as his brother, John McGown of GA. He is also survived by his children; Dee (Brad) Tanksley, Elgin, OK, Paul (Martha) McGowan, Dowagiac, MI, and Chris (Jennie) Vaughan, of Hephzibah, GA; and grandchildren; Mikayla (Austin) Lynn and Miles McGowan of Austin, TX, Braden Bittner, of Lawton, OK, Dillon Bittner of Las Vegas, NV, and Thomas Vaughan, Justin Vaughan, Kayla Jo Mays and Daniel Golden, all of Augusta, GA. He is also survived by his family and friends in Germany.
