He and the love of his life, Elsie Edmunds Meadows, eloped and enjoyed a two-year “honeymoon” traveling all over the southeast, while he was on the road working. He worked at Wilson Homes for a number of years, until his retirement.
Larry was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church in Thomson, where he served as a deacon for many years. He and his father are responsible for the decorative woodwork throughout the church. Larry was also a member of the Thomson National Guard and the Thomson Jaycees.
Larry led an active life of hunting, fishing and spending time camping with his family at Clark Hill Lake. He later developed a love of history and Indian artifacts and was an active member of the Peach State Archeological Society. He and Elsie traveled to many annual artifacts shows in Georgia and surrounding states. They also hosted the Peach State Show in Thomson for many years.
