Lester "Lee" Edward Walden, Jr.

Thomson - Mr. Lester E. “Lee” Walden, Jr., 62, died Monday, October 4, 2021, in the University/Augusta Hospital.

A memorial service will be held at 2 PM, Saturday, October 9, 2021, in the Curtis Funeral Home Chapel, with Mr. Randy Walden officiating.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, from 1 until 2.

Lee was born as Lester Edward Walden, Jr. to Lester E. Walden, Sr. and Jeanette Newsome Walden of Thomson, on January 18, 1959 in McDuffie County, Thomson, GA. Lee, as he was well known by his work family at hospitals and other medical facilities spanning from Florida to Georgia, worked toward a career in the medical field in 1997 until reaching his goal as a registered nurse and licensed mortician.

Early on, Lee had a passion to aid and assist others in need, whether hungry or homeless, or giving his touch on a sick or hurting body.  His compassion was overwhelming.  Most of Lee's life was spent in Florida, until he landed back home around 2016.  This is where he felt most needed.  His love for helping people was at it's highest level at University/McDuffie ER in Thomson.

He was a Baptist by faith and committed to the word of God, trusting Him as his Lord and Savior in his everyday walk.

Lee is preceded in death by his father.  Survivors include his mother, Jeanette (Janet) Whitaker, Boneville, three brothers, Rickie Walden (Ceil), Thomson, Randy Walden (Donna), Dearing, Johnny (JJ) Cooper, Gibson;  two sisters, Brenda Axon, Dearing and Kim Sims (Mike), Stapleton; a number of nieces and nephews; and a special friend, George Alberts.
