Cartersville - Margaret Ann “Peggy” Peterson, 79, of Cartersville, Ga., passed away on September 7, 2022.
Peggy was born on June 24, 1943 in Memphis, Tn., to the late Walter F. Peterson, Jr. and Sarah Duke Peterson.
A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, October 15, 2022, in Westview Cemetery.
She is survived by her sister, Elizabeth Peterson, of Cartersville; nephew, Christopher Strickland, of Rock Hill, S.C.; niece, Stephanie (Patrick) Douglas of Sugar Hill, Ga.; and six great-nieces and nephews.
Peggy grew up in Jacksonville, Fl., then attended the University of Georgia, where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design. Her career took her to San Francisco and Los Angeles, California, where she worked many years as a Licensed Commercial Interior Designer. Later, she moved back home to Atlanta, Ga., to be near her family and worked as a Real Estate Agent until her retirement. She loved collecting Native American Arts and Crafts and took great joy in her beloved cats.
Ms. Peterson will be laid to rest in the family plot in Westview Cemetery, Thomson, Ga. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be sent to the Booth Western Art Museum, Native American Collection, in Cartersville, Ga.
