Savannah, GA - Marilyn Pavliscsak, born Marilyn Joyce Crosby, passed away on January 20, 2026, in Savannah, Georgia, at Buckingham South Assisted Living. She was born in Lexington, KY on August 29, 1949, and grew up in Augusta, Georgia, before spending most of her life in Thomson, Georgia. Marilyn lived a life defined by devotion to her family, quiet strength, and a deep appreciation for the things she loved.
She was married to James “Jimmy” Pavliscsak for 56 years, having tied the knot in 1969. Together they shared many years of marriage rooted in commitment, care, and love.
As a retired civil servant, Marilyn worked for most of her career at Fort Gordon, Georgia, where she supported official military photography. She took pride in her work and in contributing behind the scenes to an important mission, carrying out her responsibilities with dedication and reliability.
Outside of her career, Marilyn found great joy in nurturing plants and took pride in tending to them, filling her surroundings with beauty and life. She was deeply devoted to animals, caring for them with compassion and affection throughout her life. Marilyn also had a lifelong love of Elvis, whose music brought her happiness and comfort.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, Irving and Louise Crosby. She is survived by her husband James "Jimmy" Pavliscsak; her three children, Michael (Holly) Pavliscsak, Marie (Brian) Anderson, and David I. Pavliscsak; her two grandchildren, Ben Pavliscsak and Lily Pavliscsak; her sister, Barbara (John) Crosby Bryson; as well as multiple nieces and nephews. She will be remembered with love by all who knew her.
The family will receive friends at the Curtis Funeral Home from 10 until 11 AM Friday, January 23, 2026, with the funeral services starting at 11 AM in the chapel at the Curtis Funeral Home, with Rev. Tim Ferrell officiating. Burial will follow in Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens.
