Harlem – Mrs. Mercelia Hardaway, 89, beloved wife for 70 years of Horace Hardaway, passed away Monday, March 3, 2025, at her residence.
Graveside services will be at 11 A.M. Wednesday, March 5, 2025, in Harlem Memorial Cemetery, with Rev. Wes Gardner officiating.
Mrs. Hardaway was born in Augusta, Georgia, but had lived in Harlem for many years. She graduated from Richmond Academy in Augusta. She was a bus driver for the Columbia County School System and a homemaker. She was a member of Christ Episcopal Church in Harlem.
Survivors include her husband Horace Hardaway, Harlem; daughter, Mary Jane Huffman (Richard); son, Robby Hardaway (Beverly); four grandchildren, Wade Huffman (Jenny), Zach Huffman (Kasie), Lauren Reynolds (Cal), and Emily Hardaway; six great-grandchildren, Lainey, Anna-Kate, Henry, Kate, Greyson, and Mary Kathryne.
Friends may call at the Curtis Funeral Home. The family will greet friends after the service at the cemetery.
