Murray (Boyd) Beckum

Thomson- Mrs. Murray Boyd Beckum, 94, widow of Mr. Forrest Beckum Jr., passed away, Saturday, December 7, 2024, at her residence.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, December 13, 2024, in the Westview Cemetery, with Dr. Steve Dodson officiating.

Mrs. Beckum was born in McDuffie County and lived there all her life. She was a graduate of the University of Georgia with a Bachelor Degree in Education. She taught in the McDuffie County School System for many years. She was a member of Thomson First Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Forrest Beckum; her parents, John and Mary Boyd’ and her sister, Ms. Jennie Boyd. Survivors include her daughter, Ginger (Rusty) Tumlin, Cartersville; her son, Bill (Jenifer) Beckum, Thomson; her 8 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at the residence or at the Curtis Funeral Home. The family will visit with friends after the services at the cemetery.
