Peter "Jay" Danielson

Peter “Jay” Danielson, 86, of Thomson, Ga., formerly of Western North Carolina, stepped into Paradise on March 18, 2020. He was born January 6, 1934 in Swain County, NC to the late Arthur & Cordia Swan Danielson. Jay served in the USAF during the Korean War. He was a retired supervisor from Ecusta and was past-president of the Ecusta Credit Union in Brevard, NC. Jay was a Christian, who loved God and his family, and was a member of Good Hope Baptist Church in Saluda, SC. He is survived by his devoted wife of  30 years, Shirley; his two sons, Todd (Cynthia) Danielson and Kevin Danielson; grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a Bonus Dad to 3 stepchildren, Tim (Denise) Nelson, Bryan (Liz) Nelson, and Shannon Shealy (Barrett Smith). He will be missed by their children as well, especially Emerson. His surviving siblings are Al Danielson of Lakeland, Fl, Steve (Brenda) Danielson of Marietta, SC, and Betty Danielson of Hendersonville, NC. He is preceded in death by siblings, Johnny Danielson, Herbert “Hub” Danielson, Joyce Galloway, Peggy Rogers, and Geraldine Benson. He was also loved by many nieces and nephews.
