Polly H. (Hobbs) Burkey

Warrenton - Mrs. Polly Hobbs Burkey, 69, beloved wife of Mr. Russell Burkey, entered into rest Wednesday, June 26, 2019, at her residence.  She was the daughter of the late Olin Hobbs and Martha Stewart Hobbs.

Mrs. Burkey was born in Jefferson County, Georgia, but had lived in Warrenton for many years.  She was a homemaker and a member of Second Chance Independent Church of Thomson.  Her biggest joys was going to church and spending time with church family and friends.  She was a joy to be around. If you met her you would never forget her.

She was preceded in death by her son Robert Buffington.   She is survived by her husband, Russell Burkey, Warrenton, Georgia; three daughters, Carolyn Landrum (Tom), Georgia, Dawn Michelle Rowland and Renee Davis (Samuel), Ohio; two sisters, Elizabeth Johnson, Snellville, Georgia and Margie Cliett of Gibson, Georgia; 8 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at the funeral home.  A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Friday, July 5th at Second Chance Independent Church with Rev. Charles Reese officiating.
