Richard D. Connors

Thomson - Mr. Richard D. Connors, 77, beloved husband of Mrs. Emma Connors, passed away, Friday, June 27, 2025, in the Piedmont / Augusta Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, July 1, 2025, in the Shiloh Global Methodist Church, with Rev. Mary Edith Kirkland officiating. Burial will be in the Westview Cemetery, Thomson, with Military Honors.

Mr. Connors was born in Augusta, Ga. to the late Arthur Denver Connors and Mary Ellen King Connors. He had made his home in Thomson after retiring from the Navy, after over 24 years of service. He had retired as a Master Chief. He worked at the Gracewood State Hospital in the maintenance department before retiring once again. He was a member of the Shiloh Global Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Emma Connors, Thomson; his son, Richard M. Connors, Thomson; his step-children, Lanette (Jeff) Rudolph, Graymont, Il; Rick (Pam) DeYoung, Chattanooga, Tn; Brenda Norton, Auburn, Ga.; his step grandchildren, Ashley (Dylan) Toon, Andrew (Kelly) DeYoung, Emilee DeYoung,

Blake (Kaylee) DeYoung, Amanda (Ryan) Hill, Natasha Hoover, Maegan (Alex) DeYoung, Marissa (Ashton) Cleveland, Joseph (Hannah) DeYoung, and Cody (Amanda) Norton; his 11 step great-grandchildren, Dylana, Matthew, Dylan, Landon, Payton, Paislee, Adaline, Izabel, Hallie, Harper, and James. He was preceded in death by his step son, Timothy DeYoung.

Pallbearers will be Danny Johnson, Jerry Moye, Larry Moore, Tommy Mosley, James Kirkland, and George Edwards. Honorary Pallbearers will be Rick DeYoung and Cody Norton.

Friends may call at the residence. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the church prior to services.
