Harlem- Mrs. Rosemarie Caruncho Cook, 81, widow of Mr. LeRoy Cook, passed away, Tuesday, December 10, 2024, in the Eisenhower Army Medical Center.
Mrs. Cook was born in La Paz, Bolivia. She met her husband, LeRoy Cook, in Bolivia while he was serving in the US Army. They eventually settled in Harlem Ga in 1979, where she lived out the remainder of her beautiful life. She was a homemaker, a selfless, caring wife and mother, and a doting grandmother. She was a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Augusta. She enjoyed gardening and admiring all the beautiful plants in her garden, bird watching, and playing card games with family. She left an indelible impression on all who met her, as she was always kind and full of laughter. As her health declined, she continued to put her faith in God and accept with courage and good humor the challenges she faced while battling cancer.
To celebrate her life, in lieu of a public funeral, her family held a private memorial on her birthday, Dec 19, filled with memories of a life well lived.
Survivors include her children, Kelley Cook, Harlem; Preston Cook (Jennifer), Dearing; Sheila Bailey (Richard), Grovetown; and Jessica Light (Zack), Conyers; and her grandchildren Addison Whiddon, Holland Cook, Campbell Cook, Hudson Light, and Payton Cook.
