Thomson - Mr. Thomas Charles “Tommy” Goodyear, 71, passed away Thursday, June 26, 2025 in the Piedmont / Augusta Hospital.
He was born in Hahira, Ga. on February 12, 1954, to the late Clyde and Lillian Goodyear.
Tommy is survived by his beloved wife, India Anne of 50 years, and their three children, India Dyson (Eric), Mary Heath Crowe (Nate), and McLean Goodyear (Ashtyn). He also leaves behind his precious grandchildren, Luke Dyson and Hudson Goodyear. He is also survived by his siblings, Danny (Theresa) Goodyear and Patsy (David) Melvin; and many nieces and nephews.
While attending Middle Georgia College, he met his future bride India Anne Dozier. They married and moved to Atlanta, where Tommy completed his education at Southern Tech. Upon completion of his degree, Tommy and India Anne moved to Thomson, where they raised their family. Following his career as an Architect, where he served as Vice President of R.W. Allen Athens location., Tommy spent the majority of his profession with the R.W. Allen Construction as head of the Athens office. He was a member of the Thomson First Baptist Church, where he served many years as a Deacon
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, June 30, 2025, in Westview Cemetery with Dr. Jimmy Elder and Dr. David Lambert officiating.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. at their home on Sunday, June 29, 2025.
