Thomson - Mr. Thomas Earle “Tommy” Maxwell was born on December 26, 1955 and deceased on June 15, 2020 in Augusta, Georgia from complications of a brain bleed.
A graveside funeral service will be held in the Second Chance Independent Church Cemetery in Thomson, on Sunday, June 21, 2020 at 3 P.M. with Rev. Charles Reese officiating.
Tommy was a lifelong resident of Thomson, Georgia. He enjoyed the outdoors. He hunted especially for deer, dove, turkey and duck, mostly around Thomson and McDuffie County. He also fished, mostly targeting cat fish, at Clark Hill and many farm ponds in McDuffie County. He also fished salt water from Fernandina Beach, Florida to Islamorado in the Florida Keys.
He was active in the Boy Scouts of America as a youth. He graduated from Thomson High School and earned an Associate Degree from Middle Georgia College. He was an accomplished Master Welder and worked in that industry throughout Georgia. He was employed with Two State Construction Company of Thomson for the last 22 years. He was a former member of Thomson Presbyterian Church and most recently, a member of Second Chance Independent Church.
He was predeceased by his parents, Dr. Ed and “Miss Eddie” Maxwell of Thomson. He is survived by his beloved wife, Patty; his brother, Ed (Saundra) Maxwell and sister, Lynda Ann Armour, as well as, many nieces and nephews; daughters, Patty Bullock and partner, and Dorothy Bryant (Jon); four grandchildren, Allen Bryant, Ona Bryant, Kyla Bryant and Chance Bryant; and an adopted daughter, Michelle Olivers and partner.
The family will receive friends at the gravesite, one hour prior to the service.
