Thomson - Mr. Tony Ray Wells, 66, beloved husband of Jeanie S. Wells, died Tuesday, January 12, 2021, in the Emory University Hospital in Atlanta.
A graveside service will at 2 p.m. Friday, January 15, 2021, in the Horeb Baptist Church Cemetery, Mayfield, Ga., with Dr. Randy Dunaway officiating. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, face masks and social distancing will be practiced.
Mr. Wells was a native of Hancock County, but had lived in Thomson for many years. He was employed with the Jefferson County Road Department. He attended Little Brier Creek Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sterling and Mary Wells; a sister, Florence Thigpen; and three brothers, Glenn Wells, Phillip Randall Wells, and J. S. Wells. Survivors include his wife, Jeanie S. Wells, Thomson; his daughter, Marie Duffie, Thomson; four sisters, Jeannette English, Aiken, Joyce Newsome, Thomson, Debbie Burton, Dearing, and Karen Whitaker, Honea Path, S.C.; three brothers, Hugh Wells, Dearing, Allen Wells, Thomson, and David Wells, Florida; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Curtis Funeral Home. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Georgia Transplant Foundation.
