Virginia "Ginga" (Dunaway) Shelton

Thomson - Mrs. Virginia “Ginga” Shelton, 69, widow of Mr. Steve Shelton, passed away Wednesday, April 15, 2026, in the Wellstar Hospital, in Augusta Ga.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, April 18, 2026, in the Westview Cemetery, with Rev Rodney Dunaway officiating.

Mrs. Shelton was a lifelong resident of McDuffie County. She was a retired LPN, having earned her Associate Degree from Augusta Tech. She was member of Sweetwater Baptist Church. She cherished time spent fishing, hunting, and being with family, especially sharing dinners, celebrating holidays, and filling every gathering with laughter.

Survivors include her children, Heidi Doss (Mitchell), Hope Rogers, Heath Rogers (Kelli), Hunter Rogers (Shelby), Holden Rogers (Ashley), and Harley Sidwell (Brett); her grandchildren, Ty Doss (Summer), Jagger Doss (Carson), Brett Doss, Khloe Doss, Tanner Newman (Shanna), Keegan Rogers, Kamden Rogers, Hannah Rogers, Ryder Rogers, Wylder Rogers, Riley Rogers, Sophia Rogers, Noah Rogers, Braydin Rogers, Emilee Grace Rogers, Waylon Rogers, Bentley Redman, Stevie Ann Sidwell, Hank Sidwell; her great-grandchildren, Aubrey Kneece, Rose Doss,  and Vallory Doss; and her brothers, Robbie Dunaway (Lydia) and Rodney Dunaway (Anna).

Friends may call at the Curtis Funeral. The family will greet friends after the service at the graveside on Saturday.
