Vivian A. Johnson,88, passed away July 31, 2024
Born in Soperton, Ga. she moved with her parents, the late Frank and Flora Conner Jenkins, to Thomson, Ga., where she grew up, married, and raised her three children. Vivian was also preceded in death by her husband of forty years, Horace Wall Johnson and four siblings, Carolyn Jenkins, Christine Jenkins, John Charles Jenkins, and Charles Roland Jenkins.
Vivian moved to Athens in the 1980's from Thomson, Ga. She was a graduate and retiree from the University of Georgia. She was an avid reader and wrote beautiful poetry especially to and about her children. Vivian was a former member of Holy Cross Episcopal Church in Thomson and a current member of Emmanual Episcopal Church in Athens.
A Graveside service will he held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, August 3, 2024, in Westview Cemetery in Thomson, Ga.
Survivors include three children, LeGail Tudor of Watkinsville, LeCretia (Joseph) Burton of Sandy Springs, and Ronald H. Johnson, of Athens; several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the staff members of Arbor Terrace and The Overlook for their compassion and care for Vivian for the last several years.
