Wayne Dupree

Thomson - Mr. Wayne Dupree, 75, beloved husband of Mrs. Kathy Dupree, died Tuesday, January 12, 2021, at his residence.

Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, January 16, 2021, in the Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens, with Dr. Brandon Furr officiating. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Face masks and social distancing will be observed. There will be no visitation.

Mr. Dupree was born in Jefferson County, but lived in Thomson most all his life. He was the past owner of the Auto Service Center, having operated it for 8 years. He was retired from Georgia Iron Works as a machinist. He was a member of Thomson First United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Lois Dupree; his two sisters, Helen Hillman and Judy Dupree; and his brother, Bobby “Bud” Dupree. Survivors include his wife, Kathy Dupree, Thomson; his daughter, Robyn (Greg) Rutkowski, Thomson; his granddaughter, Amanda (Ben) Skinner, Thomson; his grandson, Adam (Hannah) Rutkowski,  Athens; his great-grandson, Weston Skinner; his great-granddaughter, Amelia Rutkowski; and several nephews and a niece.
