William "Billy" H. Dent

Hawkinsville - Mr. William H. “Billy” Dent, 80, widower of Mrs. Lois Elaine Dent, died Monday, February 5, 2024, in the Watercrest / Macon Senior Living Facility.

Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. Sunday, February 11, 2024 in the Curtis Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jack Barnell officiating. Military Honors will be observed in the Chapel. Burial will be in the Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Dent was born in Washington Ga., raised in Thomson and had made his home in Hawkinsville for many years. He was a graduate of Southern Poly Tech and Georgia College & State University, with a degree in Engineering. He was a Navy Veteran, having served in Vietnam as a Seabee. He was retired from Georgia Power as an Engineer. He was a member of the Hawkinsville First United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his two sons, Dr. Gary Dent, Macon and Mr. Joseph H. Dent, Warner Robins; his two grandchildren, Katherine Dent and Caroline Dent, both of Macon; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 3 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Curtis Funeral Home.
