Thomson - Mr. William L. “Billy” Poss, 68, beloved husband of Mrs. Debra Poss, died Monday, June 24, 2024, in the Piedmont Augusta Hospital.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, June 28, 2024, in the Curtis Funeral Home Chapel, with Brother Jack McCorkle and Dr. Joe Wills officiating. Burial will be in Westview Cemetery.
Mr. Poss was a lifelong resident of McDuffie County. He graduated from Thomson High School and served in the U.S. Air Force. He was retired from the Martin Marietta Company as a heavy equipment operator, after 25 years of service. He was a member of Calvery Baptist Church in Dearing.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Debra Poss, Thomson; His daughter, Tabitha (Gene) Holbrook, Thomson; his two sons, William Trevor (Taylor) Poss and Adam “Bubba” (Marinda) Murphy, both of Thomson; his two brothers, Tommy (Diane) Poss and Stevie Poss, both of Dearing; his 5 grandchildren, Evan Holbrook, Bryar Holbrook, Adler Murphy, Drake Poss, and Elena Poss; his 4 nieces, Amber Poss, Jessica Strickland, Brooke Fain, and Erica Cook; and his two nephews, Jeremy Poss and Joey Poss.
Pallbearers will be Gene Holbrook, Evan Holbrook, Jeremy Poss, Joey Poss, Jason Rabun, and William Lloyd.
Friends may call at the residence of his son, Trevor Poss or at the Curtis Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday night at the funeral home.
